Special Instruction Week

Elective Informational Sessions

 

Friday, February 2 – Grade 8 Elective Sessions (9:00 am – 11:05 am)

 

  1. When students come to your room for session 1, please tell them they will have their passport stamped once they reach the last classroom on the tour.

 

  1. When the students leave your room, please direct them to the next room on the schedule and remind them that they only have 5 minutes to get there. The order of rooms is 320 – 301 – 203 – D115.

 

  1. Please stamp students passport in your 4th session.

 

Grade 8 groups will rotate to 4 areas with approximately 60 students per group. It is always valuable for our Grade 8 students to see where their grade 9 choices will lead them in the future.

 

Group 1 starts in Business Education and Modern Languages, Room 320 French 9.

 

Group 2 starts in Visual and Performing Arts, Room 301 Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Choir, Drama 10, Dance 10, General Art 10, Drawing and Painting 10, Media Arts 10.

 

Group 3 starts in Home Economics, Room 203 Textiles 10, Foods 10.

 

Group 4 starts in Technical Education, Room D115 Drafting 10, Electronics 10, Metalwork 10, Power Technology 10, Engineering 10, Graphics 10, Woodworking 10, STEM.

●      Each visit on the Grade 8 tour is 25 minutes in length, plus 5 minutes for travelling time

 

●      All tours start at 9:00 AM

 

●      Students may not change groups

 

●      At the end of session 4 students complete and hand in forms which will be used for attendance and course planning.

 

●      Stamp passports
