 noun

a form of dramatic entertainment, comedic solo, or the like by a single speaker: a comedian’s monologue.
a prolonged talk or discourse by a single speaker, especially one dominating or monopolizing a conversation.
any composition, as a poem, in which a single person speaks alone.
a part of a drama in which a single actor speaks alone; soliloquy.

Okay, a monologue is someone talking… But what does that have to do with Media Arts?

In this project, I am going to ask you to find, write, a 2-3 minute monologue and find an actor to perform it (I have already asked the drama teacher to talk to their students).  It could be a speech, a poem, a short piece of writing from a book- whatever. I am going to ask you to think about it, get to know it, really ponder it.  Then figure out how to use anything and everything film-related to enhance the words: Different camera angles, lighting, sound effects, voice-over, and soundtrack.

You can be your own actor or get a friend act.
