Dear students, as mentioned in class there is a community art project going on at the Sunset Ice rink over the next few weeks. And!, you are all welcome to participate!
Our community art comity wrote and received a few grants last year and were able to sign on Mr. Richard Tetrault www.richard-tetrault.ca
and company -Joey and Jerry to work with students from JO and Henderson Elementary to develop ideas based in personal cultural symbols and sport/winter activities.
SCHEDULE:
This is the schedule plan. Weather dependent, of course. Overcast is OK… rain, definitely not.
Tuesday June 24th-Saturday 28th- 1st week of work on site-laying down base colors and preparation of stencils
Monday June 30th to Friday July 4th-2nd week on site (maybe Saturday) applying stencils, laying in of large images
Monday July 7th to 11th- complete and seal mural
Most days, we will work from 11 a.m til 5 pm. then clean up for 1/2 hour.
The wall is relatively low..max. 10 feet or so. Grass slope, and a low scaffolding for set up. Wear paint clothes.
All materials will be on site.
