Dear all,
An exciting opportunity for all Asian-Canadian student Artists to show their work the Centre-A gallery. Please read below for more info.
Vancouver’s first Asian-Canadian Youth Art Exhibition, to be held at Centre A from August 25th to 26th. Please see attached for the event flyer.
Starting from now, we are accepting art submissions from Asian-Canadian teens at high schools such as yours. This would be an invaluable experience for students, from setting up their artwork to having them displayed in Canada’s leading gallery for Asian perspectives. You can find the Google form here.
1. To be displayed at the Centre A gallery from Aug. 25-26, ensure you can send in the physical artwork to Vancouver’s Chinatown (or USB drive if it’s a media file) around the mentioned dates.
2. Must be in high school or equivalent grades; the exhibition showcases all Asian perspectives living in B.C. (not restrained to Canadian citizens)
3. Again, a comprehensive portfolio and an explicit Asian theme are not expected, but explorations of identity/personal narrative would be appreciated!
4. If selected, please note that you will help (or at least think of ways to) set up your artwork independent from the wall: no drilling holes, hanging from the ceiling, etc.
Please contact organizer Martin Xie (he/him) at xieyx06@gmail.com for any questions or concerns. Follow our Instagram account @acy.art.exhibit!
