School Startup 2020: For Students, Parents and Gaurdians Term 1.

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians Welcome to the extraordinary 2020-21 school year!

Despite everything going on, I am extremely excited to be here and teaching your child/children.

Please know that the VSB, School admin, and JO teacher are very aware of prioritizing the safety of students first.  If you have any concerns please let us know.

As you may already know the year has been broken up into quarters.  My first term will be Art and Guitar (Please scroll down for the Guitar course)

I feel fortunate that out of covid19 something good has happened, that being able to separate this block into 2d & 3d groupings!  That said the 2D kids will meet in 301 and the 3D kids will meet in the Clay Room #115 (Near the east entrance on 41st near Fraser st- up the stairs from the Auditorium).

Guitar class will also be subdivided into Group A Intermediates and Advanced and Group B Beginners. Guitar class will be in the Guitar room #140 near the Auditorium entrance on the 41st side of the building.

Course Outline:

Guitar Students: Mr. D Keller  Block 1.2  Course Outline

Group A= Intermediate & Advanced in the Guitar Room
Group B = Beginners in the Guitar Room

You will DEFINITELY NEED A GUITAR AT HOME for the online portion as well as for daily practice.

If you do not have a guitar you can borrow one of my OLD Classical guitars- they suck and are really hard to learn on… Did I mention they suck?  I have about 18 of them and will be offering these guitars to the Beginner group FIRST, then to the Intermediate, and finally Advanced students.

Another option is to rent a guitar from Tapestry Music:  https://www.tapestrymusic.com/

(FYI Tapestry has helped us out here at JO for years- They are wonderful and HIGHLY recommended.  But, You are welcome to go anywhere you want!!!)

If you do want to rent from Tapestry. You can rent for the full-year or use the monthly option which is a minimum of 3 months.  Our course will only be 2.5 months so the choice is yours.

 Monthly Rental (3-month option)

    1. Select District:(select) Vancouver
    2. Select School: (select) Tapestry Music Vancouver
    3. Select Teacher: (select) Fretted Instruments

From here you have a few choices but I would recommend one of these:

Beaver Creek 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar (For smaller students)
Yamaha FG800 Acoustic Guitar – Dreadnought w/ Bag
