Continue readings on the Plants in textbook and answer the OH questions from last class (be prepared to either hand them in or answer quiz questions).
Be sure that your review for the final has started. You should go back to the beginning of the course and begin reviewing notes and textbook sections. The final exam will cover all of the course content.
Review the notes on the Moodle site – Earth motions and More on the Moon.
Final exam review – please ensure that you have begun your review of earlier chapters for the final exam. Chapters 1-9 will be covered. You should have reviewed the Safety, Scientific Method, and Chemistry sections (Ch 1-3) .
Be sure you are working on the workbook sections for astronomy, Ch. 10-12.
Project is due on 21 May 2013 for period 1-4 and 22 May 2013 for period 2-2 – Your group will do a 1 minute presentation on the project in front of the class. If your project is digital format (digital poster, powerpoint, etc) it must be submitted via email to my gmail, jsmartin@johnoliver.ca the day BEFORE the due date (20 May for 1-4 and 21 May for 2-2).
Read the notes on Earth motions and Moon: tides and eclipses (available on the Moodle site).
Continue with the related workbook sections, and with working on the space project.
Please read the earlier chapters 6 and 7 as part of your Provincial exam review.
Ecology – please see the powerpoint presentations posted on the Moodle site. Begin reading chapter 1 and work on the accompanying workbook sections.
Read p. 467 + on the seed bearing plants. Answer the overhead questions and be prepared to either hand in, if requested, or to have a quiz on the material that they cover.
Also, study for the animals test, which is next block (8 May 2013), and which includes echinoderms, arthropods, chordates, and general knowledge about animals. Use the textbook, notes, and other materials (diagrams, crosswords, etc) to help with your studying.
