Study for enzymes and ATP/cellular respiration test (chapters 6 and 7): Thursday or Friday, depending on the block.

Review chapters, notes, problem sets we worked on and for which answers were provided.

Study for the classification test (next week, Monday and Tuesday, depending on the block): chapter 15 and notes, dichotomous keys, and problems we worked on together.

Read chapter 13 and complete sections A – E on the evolution handout (A-C can be completed with the help of section 13-4).

Study for test (next Thursday/Friday) on enzymes and cellular respiration.

Read section 13-4 in the text and use the information to complete parts A – C on the handout (evolution). Begin reading chapter 13 (evolution).

Study for classification test next Thursday/Friday (depending on the block).

Finish reading chapter 15 (classification) and the matching questions on taxonomy.

Please complete the anaerobic respiration questions:

1. Write a summary equation for cell respiration.
2. What are the stages (phases) of aerobic respiration?
3. What are the major differences between aerobic respiration and fermentation?
4. What is the significance of NAD+ in fermentation and cell respiration?
5. Why do organisms undergo fermentation in the absence of oxygen?
6. Write a summary equation for photosynthesis. How does it compare to that of cellular respiration?

Will be collected next class.

Read chapter 15 (classification) and work on the classification handouts (primate and salamander dichotomous keys).

Work on the practice questions for cellular respiration (not for handing in). Answers have been included. Finish the DNP case study and be ready to discuss in class.

Test on enzymes and cellular respiration will be on Tuesday, 12 Dec 2017.
