Finish the evolution terms and continue reading ch. 13/14 and workbook Unit C.

Answer the questions given in class:

2. Adaptation, phenotype, genotype
3. Gene pool
4. Gene
5. Allele
6. Fitness
7. Natural Selection
8. What is the smallest unit on which natural selection can act?
9. List at least 4 types of evidence for evolution.

Begin reading the evolution section in the workbook (unit C) and in the text (chapters 13 and 14).

Please work on completing the classification notes, and the dichotomous keys given out in class.
If you haven’t read ch. 15 yet, please do so.

Work on the taxonomy practice worksheet and be sure that you can answer the multiple choice questions in the workbook at the end of the taxonomy/classification unit (answers are in the back).
Be sure you have completed the reading of chapter 15 in the text.

Finish the cell/microscopy worksheet.
Be sure to know the cell organelles, their functions and the cell theory.
We will begin talking about classification next class.

Continue with reading of Unit B (workbook) and Ch. 15 (textbook).
Finish new microscope problems and cell chart.

Finish the microscope crossword and the microscope calculations worksheet.
Study Unit B in the workbook (Classification) and read text chapter 15. We will review the cell and then begin Classification at the end of next week.

Read the remainder of Appendix C (p. 10 – 11 in reference section of textbook) on the care and use of the microscope.

Finish the microscope crossword. Clue 17 across is difficult to read on the handout.  It is “1 X 10⁶ microns (or micrometers).”

Be sure you have read and understood 5-1 to 5-3 in the textbook.
