Do questions 1-3 in the Critical and creative thinking section on p. 157 in the text.
Try to finish the Cell Regulation handout on DNA using chapter 4 and 7 in the text.
Author: Joanne Martin
Mini Science 10 1-3 Martin 16 Oct 2015
Read section 5.1 on acids and bases. Test Chapter 4 will be on 22 October.
Practice all related questions using the section and chapter reviews.
Biology 12 1-2 Martin 16 Oct 2015
Finish the DNA review (last page of template notes) and the workbook unit C.
Refer to textbook chapters on DNA replication, transcription and translation as reference.
Complete the Cell Regulation handout.
Science 10 1-1 and 2-3 Martin 16 and 19 October 2015.
Ensure that your group members have the data table (observations) from the Acids and Bases Lab Two Unknowns today.
Answer the following questions based on your observations, your knowledge of acids and bases, and using the text as a resource:
1. List the properties of acids.
2. List the properties of bases.
3. Write a general chemical equation for an acid-base neutralization reaction (see p. 236 for examples).
4. Identify the unknown substances in today’s lab, A and B, as either acid or base, based on the observations you made (use the table on p. 224).
Read section 5.1 on acids and bases. Test Chapter 4 will be on 22 October for period 1-1 and 21 October for period 2-3.
Practice all related questions using the section and chapter reviews.
Biology 11 1-4, 2-1 and 2-2 Martin 14 and 15 Oct 2015
Work on and complete the DNA handout (using chapter 7 in the textbook).
Be sure you have read the Unit C in workbook (evolution) and have practiced (and can answer) the multiple choice questions at the end of the unit (answers are in the back of the workbook.)
Mini Science 10 1-3 Martin 14 Oct 2015
Finish 4.3 reading and practice the chapter review questions.
You should be comfortable with all aspects of chapter 4.
Quiz next class on chapter 4, including balancing equations.
Biology 12 1-2 Martin 14 Oct 2015
Continue working on the Cell Regulation handout, DNA/Protein Synthesis review sheet, and workbook/textbook reading and questions practice.
Quiz next class on DNA as well as biological molecules and the case study on water (and all related questions).
Science 10 1-1 and 2-3 Martin 14 and 15 October 2015
Be sure you have finished the section 4.3 in workbook and textbook.
Review by studying the chapter review for chapter 4.
Biology 12 1-2 Martin 9 October 2015
Work on the DNA handout and continue reading the DNA sections in workbook and textbook and workbook.
Practice the questions in the workbook.
Biology 11 Martin 1-4, 2-1 and 2-2 on 9 and 13 October 2015
Finish the evolution terms and continue reading ch. 13/14 and workbook Unit C.
