Review/re-read notes and section 17-2 in text (Monerans). Answer the questions:
- how do monerans reproduce “sexually”?
- how do monerans survive drought and freezing?
- What are the ecological roles of monerans?
Small quiz next class on the above, and on moneran cell structure.

As given in class, the exam will cover chapters 4-6 (reproduction) and related sections in the workbook (unit 1), safety (1.1 in text) and scientific method (p. 462 in text).
Biology 11 all classes
As given in class, the chapters on the mid-term exam are: 1,5,7,9,10,13-15, as well as fruit flies and other material covered in class (articles, case studies).
Optional: you may bring a 8.5″ X 11″ NOTES PAGE to the exam, ONE-SIDED, hand-written, not machine printed or photocopied.

Begin reading the section on the digestive system.
Study for the mid-year exam, which will cover DNA, Enzymes and ATP. This is a closed book exam: no notes, text, or other resources are allowed as reference.
Exam dates are 25 and 26 January during class, depending on the block.

Finish the Elephant Evolution worksheet and hand in. Read the two articles (rove beetles and corn evolution) and do a “close reading” according to the instructions given on the article handout. Be prepared to discuss the articles. They will be included on the mid-year exam.
Complete the “little mito” case study and answer all the questions.
