HOMEWORK: Due Monday
- Late work – poem, Elie Wiesel intro sheet
- KWL – Know, Wonder, Learned- Auschwitz, Elie Wiesel, WWII – On a sheet of paper list out what you already Know about Auschwitz, Elie Wiesel, and maybe some important or interesting details that you know about WWII. Then make a list of things you Wonder about? What questions do you have? What do you want to learn? The questions and Wonders are very important. You should have many, many more of these than the Know because the purpose is to wonder and then learn while we read & study this novel. You will do the Learned part later, but leave space (maybe on the back) for you to add the Learned section.
- Written response – pen/typed, double spaced, 200-250 words/min 1 pg double spaced discussion – Consider and reflect on the Rankings/judgement, “The Hangman” and the quotes (all intro to the novel) activities we’ve been doing and discuss the following topic:
- Fear was the common reason for not taking action, so how can (we) YOU learn from the past to prevent similar events (genocides, injustice, bullying) from happening in the future? How do we do better? How do we overcome fear?
