I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WORK THAT DOES NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS! BUT that doesn’t mean you don’t have to complete the assignment. You will have to come in after school to work on it instead.

  4. Friendship – Check the last post so you answer all the required questions.
  5. Journal #2 – What is Friendship – Using your answers, write a multi-paragraph response in pen, double spaced, in your journals.  This is how you should structure your ideas: Intro: What is your definition of friendship.  Describe Aristotle’s definition.  Body: Connect & compare your friends to Aristotle’s definition.  Connect & compare yourself as a friend to Aristotle’s definition.  Conclusion: Connect & sum up/discuss all the ideas – your definition, Aristotle’s, you & your examples of friends.

HOMEWORK: Due Wed

  1. LP #7-9 – Unit #1 Test Tuesday next week
  2. Journal #1 – My Values – 2nd draft – take what you wrote in your first draft and what you filled in the worksheet, and write a better, clearer, stronger paragraph.  Double spaced & in pen.
  3. Reading PkgFriendship – do Qs. #1-5 in the booklet and complete these questions in your journal books – 1.  What is your definition of a friend?  2. How are you a good friend to others?  Give examples for each of Aristotle’s types of friendship to explain.  3.  Are you all 3 types of friend to anyone?  2 types?  4. Is anyone all 3 for you?  2 types?  Explain and describe how for each one. (Aristotle: usefulness, pleasure, moral goodness) You will be using the answers to these questions to write a response, so the more detailed/specific your answers are, the easier it will be to write the next journal.

HOMEWORK: Due Tues

  1. Writing – Draft – Multi-paragraph (Intro/Body/Conclusion), double spaced, at least 2 themes.  What can you learn about your identity from the movie “The Little Prince”?  What themes does the movie present that can apply to your life? Discuss. In your Introduction – name the movie, generally talk about the movie or themes, AND state your THESIS SENTENCE (From the movie, what themes apply to your life).  Body– for each theme you should state the point, give an example(s) of that theme from the movie, and then explain how you can apply the theme to your life.  Be clear, be specific.  Conclusion– recap, step back and consider, finalize.
  2. EVERYONE MUST HAVE A DRAFT OF THEIR WRITTEN RESPONSE WITH THEM TO EDIT & WORK ON IN CLASS. or suffer the consequences…
