HOMEWORK: Due Wed/Thurs

  1. Characterization quiz – review the worksheets and watch the following videos so you can prepare for the quiz on Thurs/Fri

  2. Characterization Posters – bring notes so you can finish your Mama or Dee posters. You will be presenting your posters to the class.
  3. Identity ProjectPart 5 rough draft due Fri/Mon. You can choose ANY of the assignments for your 5th draft. The whole project will be due at the end of February.

  1. Remember you should be done reading your novel by Lit Circle #7. You will have a couple of classes to work on the project. Project is due on Feb. 21-22.
  2. Block  1.1 – Lit Circle #6 Monday & #7 Friday. 
  3. Block 2.4 – Lit Circle #5 – Tuesday & #6 – Thursday.
  4. Socratic Circle sheet – start to fill in ideas for each of the categories. We only have 1 reading left and you need to write a variety of comments for all of the essays we’ve done (In the Trenches, Grinning and Happy, The Scar, Hurricane, The Other Hell)

  1. Lit CirclePeer & Self-Evaluation – read the instructions & make sure you do a thorough job. Use the rubric to give good reasons (positives & negatives) for the marks you give to yourself and your peers.
  2. Read – p. 102 – “The Hurricane” – Qs. Structure #2; Discussion #2.
