2. Making Thesis Statements – (last page of handout) – on the blank back page, come up with 5 TOPICS and for each, come up with 5 SUBTOPICS – Ex. Topic:  Cars  Subtopics: Types of Cars, New vs. Used Cars, Cars & the environment, Car Shows, History of Cars.  See the example on the handout.  You DO NOT have to write any thesis statements, you ONLY have to come up with 5 topics & 5 subtopics for each.  You will be writing Thesis Statements for your ideas in class.
