They were asked to consider the immediate and long lasting effects of the way the Portuguese treated the native people of Africa, India and Brazil. They were asked to use ethical judgement to evaluate this.

1-3 S.S 9: I collected the homework. Then, I gave a mini lecture on the American Revolutionary War. Students filled in guided notes as we went along. We then analyzed Patriot and Loyalist propaganda, as well as some examples of propaganda that came up later in history. Students were given the rest of the class to work on making a Loyalist or Patriot propaganda poster of their own.
