1-2 S.S 8: We started a new unit on The Age of Exploration! I gave a mini lecture on why exactly European’s wanted to begin to set sail and go to other countries and continents around the world. Students filled in guided notes. Then, we watched a Crash Course video on the three main mariners from the 15th century – Zheng He, Vasco De Gama, and Christopher Columbus. This was just an introduction to them – we will going more in depth in classes to come. Students were given the rest of class to work on a worksheet package about ships and navigation – all information can be found in their textbooks. This is due next class, Friday December 8th. We will be having a unit test on Wednesday, December 20th.

1-3 S.S 9: We started our new unit today… The American Revolution! I started with a homework check, and then moved on to explain the next historical thinking concept we will be working on – Cause and Consequence. For every Cause/Event there are always Consequences. I have a short lecture on the Causes of the American Revolution and then students started on their homework. They must fill in a chart about the 5 main causes of the American Revolution – they must fill in every cause, consequence and draw an illustration. All information can be found in the PPT Notes I provided. Cause and Consequence chart is due next day, Friday the 8th! We also have a Unit test coming up on December 20th.
