HOW TO APPLY:
Step 1: Mini-school applicants are required to register on the VSB Mini School District Registry (registration opens from November 10th to December 18th, 2025). Please continue to check the VSB Mini School website and the DT Odyssey website for more information.

Step 3: Download, print, and complete the Odyssey Program application form.

Step 4: Submit the student’s final Grade 6 and December’s Grade 7 report card. Report cards issued by the public, private, and district learning schools/institutions are accepted. Homeschooling report cards are not accepted.
Step 5: Prepare a photo of the student. The student’s photo is needed to help the teachers identify the student during interviews/video calls.
Step 6: Submit the student’s portfolio with school work (e.g., science, math, social studies, English, etc.) that showcases their abilities. Optional: Download the Portfolio template as a guide and submit any supporting documentation and evidence. The submitted evidence (e.g., folders, binders, USB memory sticks, etc.) will not be returned to the student. After the Odyssey student cohort has been finalized, the students’ application packages will remain in storage for a year. Afterwards, the packages will be shredded.

Step 7: Submit the program application, report card, portfolio material, and photo in an envelope addressed to DT Odyssey Program Application. Label the envelope with the student’s first and last name, phone number, and email address where the parent/guardian can be reached if there are concerns regarding the application. The deadline for the application is no later than 3 PM, Thursday, December 18th, 2025.
Step 8: Complete the digital form here with the applicant’s information so that the program coordinators can add you to the emailing list (just in case of office error,s then we can cross-check the information).
IMPORTANT: Incomplete application packages will not be considered. Please use the program registration checklist to complete the process.
Please note that the office staff WILL NOT be assisting in photocopying or assisting in the assembly of the application package.
Step 9: Complete the mandatory student assessment test held on January 9th, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM in the DT cafeteria. More information about the assessment test will be sent by email after the application deadline has closed. Please check your junk/spam email so as not to miss the information. NOTE: Waiting for date, time, and location confirmation at this time. Stay tuned for more info.
Step 10: Submit the 2026 grade 7 report cards once available to complete the student’s registration file.

Odyssey Student Invitations and Acceptance Dates (2026) are:
February 11: First offers sent out to students by email
February 13: First offers must be accepted by noon
February 18: Second offers sent out to students by email
February 19: Second offer must be accepted by noon
Please check your email inbox on these dates. The email may end up in your SPAM or JUNK email. If the student does not respond, the offer will be given to another student.
