    Dalai Lama

What are the Dalai Lama’s universal values?

The Dalai Lama’s universal values are compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment and self-discipline.

Why would you want to meet him?

I would want to meet the Dalai Lama because he seems like an amazing person he is so peaceful. He can teach us all about his values such as compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment and self-discipline. He can help us achieve more happiness and peace within.

If you were to meet the Dalai Lama, what questions would you ask him? (please create 2-3 questions)

If I could meet the Dalai Lama I would ask him how can you mostly always be so peaceful and forgiving? Do you ever really feel angry or upset? Have you found life more successful or peaceful if forgive and forget easily?
How did you know that this is what you wanted to do with your life? If you could do something else with your life what would it be?

I would want to meet the Dalai Lama because he seems really interesting. Some questions i would ask him are ….How does he feel being the 14 Dalai Lama? or Did he actually believe it when people said that he’s the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama? The Dalai Lama’s universal values are humanity (being humane), having or creating a peaceful environment, and caring for the Earth

    2. I would want to meet him because the Dalai Lama seems like a fascinating person. He educates the heart and the mind and I would like to know how he does that. Also, I would like to know more about him in person.

    3. If I were to meet the Dalai Lama, I would ask him :
How and when did you choose to give your life in the
    servitude of others?
Is there a perfect way of living life? If yes, what is it?

  • Yeshav Mohabeer

    1. The Dalai Lama’s universal values are that he is a man of peace and non- violence. 2. I would want to meet the Dalai Lama because he seems like a very interesting person. I would also like to listen to what he has to say because he seems to have alot of life experience and wisdom. Their are many other reasons why I want to meet the Dalai Lama, but these are just a few of the reasons.

    3. If I had the chance to personally meet the Dalai Lama, these would be the few questions I would ask him.

    * Why have you come to Vancouver and what is your goal here?

    * How can someone achieve true happiness and peace?

I would say that the values of Dalai Lama comes from his personality, his character, his respect and compassion to this world and to the kids. Dalai Lama promotes happiness, he believes money and wealth doesn’t make you happy, the best value of him would be to educate kids with live and kindness; he spends his life iey love to educate kids with kind hearts.
I want to meet Dalai Lama because I want to really understand how is he not getting angry or stressed with student when working. Also what are the main reasons I should be trying to achieve with compassion in my life by learning from his words and other students.
I would ask Dalai Lama him:
    What is happiness to you?
What do you think about the students today?
If you had 1 year to teach either the poor or the rich people, which would you choose? Why?
I think Dalai Lama is a good inspiration for our future.

The Dalai Lama is truly a person peace. He believes that being affable to others is the key to happiness, and that being prejudice against others because they believe in another religion is unacceptable. There are many reasons why I’d like to meet him, but I think just being in the presence of his Holiness is an honour. He is idolized by millions, had tons of hardships during his 80 years of life, and if we were to ever meet, I’m sure his stories will be extremely interesting to hear. During this meeting, two questions I would ask would be, “What is your opinion on science?” and, “How do you handle stress?”

  • Megan Mah

1.The Dalai Lama’s universal values consists of teaching others on self discipline when they need it, forgiveness when it’s hard to make the decision whether or not to forgive, compassion in showing others you care, he has showed people the ability to tolerate things when your angry or outraged to just remain peaceful and try to understand the situation better. He has many others but i think these are the most important ones the he shares with everyone, and the ones that people use.

    2. I would want to meet the Dalai Lama because of his courageous contribution on peace that is in our world today since, it’s not as peaceful as it should be. And for his thoughts on spreading the brightness of the brain and the warmth of your heart, and because, he has had many experiences that i would possibly like to learn about. That is why i would want to meet the Holiness himself the Dalai Lama.

3.-Do you ever miss living in Tibet?
-Are you ever angry with people?
-do you think your presents on earth have helped others?

It is also a once in a life opportunity to meet/watch him live. Last but not least for memories, i’m going to remember this day for the rest of my life because it is very important to me and also the rest of the school.

    3) First Question- how do you stay so optimistic and faithful when the world has so much hate in it?
Second Question- Have you ever thought about being a normal person instead of being the Dalai Lama?

  • Megan Gragasin

2-I would want to meet the Dali lama because he has so much wisdom and such a different view of the world, and talks about patience, and to be educated.

3-what was the first thing that you thought when you got deported from China?
Why did you want to become the 14th Dali Lama?
How did your family reflect on your path you chose in life?

  • Hazelle

    1. The Dalai Lama’s universal values are peace, non-violence, inter-religious understanding, universal responsibility and compassion.

    2. I would want to meet the Dalai Lama because he is very welcoming, funny and wise. He gives very insightful answers to questions about life. He provides peace even for people that don’t give peace to him. I can feel his peace from the bleachers all the way from the stage.

    3. If I were to meet the Dalai Lama, I would ask him this.

-What advice would you give to the people that don’t have inner peace?

    – How would you say is a good way to find inner peace?

-Why do you think been a good person also leads to having good grades?

  • Kathryn Nguyen

    1. One of the Dalai Lama’s universal values is peace. The Dalai Lama is the leader of Tibet’s Buddhist culture which is based on peace and no violence. Therefore, the Dalai Lama’s job is to preserve those beliefs. A second one is human values (such as compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment, and self-discipline). He believes that all humans are the same no matter what religion. Likewise, everyone wants happiness and no one wants to suffer. Another one is harmony and understanding among the worlds religious traditions. All religions have one goal. To make life better. That is why they should all respect one another.

    2. The reasons why I’d want to meet the Dalai Lama is most likely very similar to others. I would want to meet him because I find him to be a very inspirational person who understands a lot about human life and would be a good influence. I hope that after I meet him, I would be a bit more educated on how to live life properly to its full extent. Also, I hope that I would be able to become motivated to improve my life as well as many others.

    3. If I got a chance to ask the Dalai Lama 3 questions, the first one would be: “Is there ever an expiry date for forgiveness?” I would ask that because there are many people who commit many wrongdoings. Some realize and apologize. However, many only realize after a long time. The second one would be: “What should I do when I feel like there is no way out and it is the end?” I would ask that because there are many teens who face difficulties and feel like giving up. During those times, we don’t know what to do. And the last one would be: “Is there such a thing called eternal happiness?”I would ask that because there are times when people are happy. However after a period of time, that happiness would fade. So, is there such a thing called eternal happiness?
