Sc8 Course Outline 2012-2013
Here are the things I need to do and learn this year:
- pay attention during class time (sit away from distracting people)
- be organized; be prepared; check the blog
- ask lots of questions
Sc8 Classroom Contract
For my best chance to learn cool things in science this year I need:
- bring: paper, erasers, pencils, pens, notebook, binder, highlighter, colouring stuff, text books,
- teacher: my job is to give you feedback and to set the timing of all the activities
- do: homework
- do: make smart decisions about seating
Safety
To be trusted to do cool and dangerous experiments, I need to think about and act upon these safety things:
- wear goggles to protect your eyes
- be careful if you have long hair, hoodies, long sleeves: they catch fire!
- have a clean space (no papers and backpacks)
- be sanitary – wash your hands, tables
- open the windows if we are using the gas
- dont burn yourself: if we have open flame, the materials get hot, too!
- follow all instructions
