DI Sc9 – Shocking Demos

Here is the “flow” of the demos. Keep in mind, we all want to be entertained, amazed and even get slightly injured. However, no one comes to school expecting to leave by ambulance, so be safe. Also, you must teach us the ‘science’ behind your demo.

We’ll choose the order :: reverse alphabetical by firstname (zebra, you are first, Alfred last – unless they are partners)

  • Take 1 minute to get yourself prepared :: maybe write something on the board, pull up a supporting website?
  • Make sure to hand in your paper plan
  • Show all the materials you need to use
  • List any safety concerns
  • Tell a quick story about the testing you did
  • Do the demo
  • Explain the science
  • Maybe do the demo again bringing our attention to the science
  • Maybe do the demo again with a variation proving the science
  • Summarize
  • Cleanup your mess or call 911

Next group on deck while everyone chats about how amazed they were and they write a quick note about it or edit a video clip to review later for the test.

Repeat until bell rings, groups are all done, or someone hits the floor unconscious and I lose my job.

You know you are an ‘A’ student if your blog had writing, links and video/pics that grip the reader and make the reader of your blog feel like they want to be in my class.
