The peasants life in the 17th century was brutal. Peasants did not get to do things of there choice because, they were forced to do things on the lord’s properly. Even when animals killed livestock or destroyed crops they were told not to harm the animals and the aristocrats didn’t own peasants anything.

The life in Paris was poor. Most people that lived needed money for food so a lot of people didn’t have a home but lived in slums. Since the aristocrats and merchants had a lot more money they would show off their wealth. The cash made the cost for goods higher which made it harder for the ordinary people to buy things.

The Bourgeoisie were important people because they invested in the business ventures. But because of the law it became hard for the bourgeoisie the make money. It also made it hard because of the infrastructure not being the best, but the government didn’t do much to fix it.

In 17th century France, most farmers owned small plots and still used medieval farming methods, so they didn’t produce as much as farms in England and Holland. Peasants worked hard but didn’t earn much, and had no access to education. They were very superstitious, and were often victims of disease and famine. Peasants, while working on their own farms, were also forced to work on the lord’s demesne and government projects. Their farms were often used as hunting grounds, so they weren’t allowed to chase off animals that killed livestock or ruined crops. When aristocrats ruined their crop they didn’t owe them anything. So, basically, their lives were terrible and unjust.
Most people who lived in the city came from the countryside in search of work, but the ones who actually did find jobs had to spend half their income just on food. So most of Paris was poor
and filled with beggars and theives. They also had to deal with inflation. The ones who did
become wealthy displayed it without any embarrassment whatsoever.
The bourgeoisie was important to the economy because they brought new business ventures. However, they couldn’t make much of a profit because of laws and regulations, and some people held monopolies on the production of certain goods.

    Peasants life;
The peasants life wasn’t something that anyone would like to live, the farmers owned small areas of land (plots) and farmed using medieval farming methods. Their farms didn’t produce much therefore their income wasn’t much and with that they also had to pay 10% of their income to the church. Writers who wrote about them described their lives as brutal. Peasants also had no access to education and were forced to work for the lord, farming and planting crops. They were also prohibited to kill or drive off animals that attacked their livestock.

    Life in Paris;
Paris was a crowded city, with 600,000 and most of them in the search for work. Those who had work as shopkeepers or clerks spent half their incomes buying food, that meant that there were many beggars, vagrants, and thieves. The more lucky merchants and aristocrats displayed their wealth to the many people. Soon after the prices rose and ordinary people barely had enough to buy flour which they used to bake their breads.

    importance and challenges;
Paris had a rough time back in the day from not enough jobs to people not having enough money to food in order to survive. All the things that happened played an important role to make Paris what it is today. They had many challenges along the way from the peasants struggling to survive to the thieves running around stealing to survive.

(the last question i really didn’t understand)

The peasant life was very hard because the peasants did not have lots of land to farm. The farms were most of the the time not very productive. The peasants couldn’t drive off the wild animals that ate their livestock and crops because the animals were hunting game for the aristocrats. Life was not fair for the peasants.

City life was possably even harder than life in the country because the people had to deal with inflation, prices for food were constantly riseing. Most people had to live in slums and were forced to beg and evean steal to be able to buy food. The aristocrats had lots of money and showed off their wealth with pride, unlike the peasants.

The bourgeoisie were France’s middle class they invested in business ventures but it was not always easy there were laws in place to that allowed one person to control all of a single product(a monopoly). Most guilds could set the price and amount of goods so it was difficult for the bourgeoisie to to invest.

Peasants life in the 17th century was really bad as they were treated hurtfully. They worked hard but weren’t allowed to have education. Aristocrats trampled their fields but owed peasants nothing which was not right.

City life in Paris was horrible in the 17th century. Most people had come from the countryside. A lot of people were poor and lived in slums. Ordinary people had to deal with inflation.

The bourgeoisie were important because they invested in new business ventures. Two challenges they had to deal with were that it was difficult for them to make a profit and their were certain tariffs and tolls that the french government did nothing about.

    Peasants:
Most peasants were farmers and they usually had small plots of land. They used medieval farming techniques. Not too many peasants knew how to read or write. They worked hard but only a few got a lot of money. Peasants had to work on the lord’s property and/or on government projects. They were also not aloud to kill animals that destroyed livestock.

    City Life:
Most people from france or the countryside came to work and get money. They had jobs like shoekeepers, artisans, clerks, or labourers. Half the money they got they had to use on food so they didn’t have a lot of money. Since people didn’t have a lot of money this caused people to become beggars, vagrants, or thieves. Even though there were some poor people there was still some rich merchants who had enough money to support themselves.

    The Bourgeoisie:
The Bourgeoisie were France’s middle class and they were important to the economy and this was because they invested in new business ventures. Some laws and regulations mad it hard for some of them to make money. Some Bourgeoisie had monopolies. They had to pay tariff and tolls and France didn’t have a good infrastructure so it was hard to travel.

On the onther hand the prosperous merchants and aristocrats used their money without shame.

    3. The importance and challenges the Bourgeoisie faced. They were important because they invested in new business ventures. But because laws and regulations made it hard for them to make profit some of them held monopolies on production goods. Some regions, guilds held special privileges granted by the king and could control how many goods were made and how much they would be money wise.

The peasants life was harsh, none of them had the ability to read or write. Peasants had no access to education. They were force to work on the lord’s property and on government project. The French society was organized like a pyramid, with relatively few people, the aristocrats, near the top, and many workers and serfs at the bottom. In the seventeenth-century, most French farmers owned a small plot of land and still used medieval farming methods.Their farms did not produce much as much as England and Holland produced. Also, peasants were forced to work on the lord’s property with their own time. Overall, the peasants had a hard time and had to work hard in the seventeenth century.

The people in Paris would have to spend half their incomes on food even if they were lucky enough to have jobs as shopkeepers, artisans, clerks, or labourers. This resulted having many beggars, vagrants, and thieves. Meanwhile, prosperous merchants and aristocrats displayed their wealth without embarrassment. The cost of goods rose steeply because of the great influx of cash into cities. Because of this, ordinary people had to deal with inflation.

The bourgeoisie was important to the economy because they invested in new business ventures. Some challenges that the bourgeoisie faced was that laws and regulations made it very difficult for them to make a profit. Some people held monopolies on the production of certain goods. Also France was divided into different districts, each with its own internal tariffs and tolls. France lacked what modern economists call infrastructure and the government seemed to be doing very little to develop one.

The Bourgeoisie had little profit. Some held monopolies on productions of certain goods. The king would control how much good were produced, and how much they cost. France was then divided and people would be charged to use the roads or bridge.

  • Rolly Carino

A Peasants life in the 17th century was horrible. It is because peasants lived in extreme poverty and owed the bulk of their produce to seigneur, or feudal lord.

17th century city life in Paris was extremely busy due to the tending and purning the vines and harvesting the grapes during wine-making season of October and November.

One of the Bourgeoisie faced was that Monarchs placed many restrictions on the business class.

  • Amrit Kooner

Peasants life in the seventeenth century was not very good. Farmers owned small pieces of land and farmed using medieval methods. England and Holland farmers were way better payed. Few peasants could read or write, they worked really hard but only had little to show for their labour. Writers described their life as brutal. Peasants were forced to spend some time working on the lords property or government projects. Sometimes aristocrats chased game animal through planted fields which destroyed crops but the aristocrats owed the farmers nothing.

City life in Paris was both bad and good. It was bad because people with jobs like shopkeepers, artisans, clerks, or labourers had to spend half their income on food which gave Paris a lot of beggars, vagrants, thieves and people who were poor and or lived in slums. the good part was that life was good for people like merchants, and aristocrats because they were wealthy and could afford stuff like flour and other goods. Normal people couldn’t because it got more expensive due to inflation.

Some challenges the bourgeoisie faced were that laws and regulations made it hard for the bourgeoisie to make profit, some people held monopolies on the production of certain goods, France was divided into many different districts and everyone of them had their own tolls and taxes that had to be paid, lack of decent roads and canals made stuff worse, France lacked infrastructure said the modern economists, government was doing very little to help develop infrastructure, in some regions guilds held special privileges granted by the king which let them control how many goods were produced and how much they would cost.

-Peasants, some, as French farmers used medieval farming techniques for producing produce on small plots of land that was owned by them. Compared to England and holland, French farmers made less produce. To writers at that time considered peasants lives as brutal. A few of the peasants could read and write, worked hard, but majority of them had a low working ethic. Some that were guilty of scarce food had lived with superstition. Peasants were not able to get educated. They were obligated to spend there working time on the lords property and in government projects. They were not allowed to chase down or kill animals that have wrecked crops because aristocrats would hunt them and they too would step on the crops yet nothing was owed to the peasants.

-Peoples were separated into classes the king was at the top and worked its way down from aristocrats to serfs and workers at the bottom. Aristocrat had many privileges and so did the church which they had lawful right to tax peasants 10% of their wage.

The importance of the bourgeoisie was that they could invest in many business which lead to many items or materials needed to meet their needs. But laws made it hard for the bourgeoisie to make a profit. Guilds controlled the amount of produce and the price of the goods. It was also hard for them to connect with each other because France was divided into many sections that had poor roads and canals witha tax on them when crossing or on road. The government did not do a good job of making the routes better.

Peasants lived a very rough life in France in the 17 century they used to live in a small plots. There life consisted of very small voting rights. Peasants had to do lots of farm work also some peasant could only read and wright a little because they did not have education back then. They could not kill or harm any animal that ruined there crops cause animals were often hunted by aristocrats.

On the rich side people showed there wealth without embarrassment. Because of income of cash into city’s, the cost of goods rose steeply and ordinary people had to deal with inflation.

Peasant life in the 17th century was brutal, similar to the dark ages peasants. They were farmers with small plots of land without much freedom. they had to follow a set of rules a long with the laws that were already passed down. For example they couldn’t hunt, due to the fact that the livestock was considered the king’s property. They also had to work on a plot of land that the king owned, which they had to work on very often. They weren’t educated and often died of pestilence or famine. It was a tough and brutal lifestyle.

City life is a significant upgrade from peasant life, though people still had rough times. People who had jobs were still poor, such as the shopkeepers, they didn’t generate enough money, which means that they had to spend majority on food, making them poor and live in the same areas as the peasants, the slums. Though on the other hand, merchants were prosperous and lived wealthy lifestyles, maybe even superior wealth to the nobles.

The Bourgeoisie was the middle class, the middle of the pack. They were important to the economy. The monarch had to set laws in order to make the bourgeoisie have a hard time profiting from what they do. The king controlled a lot of what they did of course, though they weren’t as a “property” to the king as the peasants were. This is the main difference from the French 17th century and the dark ages, in the dark ages, they had no “middle ground”, you were either a serf/freeholder or a noble.

Peasants life in the 17th century:
Peasants were farmers who were often living in poverty. Their lands weren’t looked upon as wide-reaching or very substantial, and they didn’t use any modern methods of farming.
With no access to education, Many didn’t have the ability to read or write, or have any one to teach them. Peasants were very unfortunate due to the fact they were frequent targets for sickness & shortage of food. Farmers were generally required to work on the lords property & governments projects, but they would never have an appreciable amount to show to them.

    City life (17th century Paris):
Paris being the largest city/largest populated (600,000) drew many Aristocrats & Merchants.
The immense amount of wealth they had led Paris to raise their produce prices.
Due to the drastic change in prices, ordinary citizens struggled, leaving Paris with many desperate people. The majority of those desperate people first came on a hunt for jobs, but half their incomes had to be used on food. It was hard to keep away from danger from their political beliefs as well.

    The importance/challenges the Bourgeoisie faced:
The Bourgeoisie were labeled in between the honorable & the peasants (Middle class).
They had a great ability to work hard until the Peasants came. The bourgeoisie had conflict with the aristocrats politically. France hoped for a bourgeoisie that would seize control in Frances revolution.

    1) Peasants life in the 17th century was hard. They could not read or write, worked hard but most had little to show for their labour. They were forced to spend part of their time working on the lord’s land.
    2) Paris was the largest city in France, with a population of 600,000 people. Most people who lived in Paris and other cities had recently come from the countryside in search of work. Many people were poor and lived in slums.
    3) This group of people was important to the economy because they invested in new business ventures. However, laws and regulations made it difficult for the bourgeoisie to make profit.

  • In seventeenth-century France, peasants had a miserable life. They had deal with problems such as produce, education, money, and work. The produce created in farms didn’t match the cost in produce as other foreign countries. It was uncommon for peasants to have the ability to read or write. The Church could tax peasants a tithe. Peasants had to do labor on the lords land and on government projects as well. A Peasants life was considered “atrocious” because of these hellish circumstances.

The city life in Paris in the seventeenth-century France was not balanced at all. Many people were indigent-even those with jobs. Paris was soon to be filled with people like hobos and burglars. On the contrary, people like aristocrats and successful merchants became gaudy with their astounding wealth. Many normal people were doomed, as the price of goods flew excessively upwards. Inflation was the two in the one-two punch to people. Inflation sometime later made flour costly which caused many people to go into hunger because bread was the main food source of people. Such circumstances of both sides of the people in Paris caused this unbalanced formula of city life.

The Bourgeoisie was very important and face many difficulties as well. They were essential to financial system due to the funding in recent occupations. The main problem that walled the Bourgeoisie was the laws. The laws gave the Bourgeoisie trouble making money. Monopolies were held for specific goods. Other areas contained guilds that were gifted with the ability to determine the produce-rate and cost of goods by the king. The Bourgeoisie influenced French society but had problems to overcome firstly.
