Peasants in the 17th century lived a very hard life because they worked hard but had very little to show for their labour.

describe city life in Paris in the 17th century
they didn’t have a lot of jobs that were available, food was very expensive and wealthy people showed off their money.

The importance and challenges the bourgeoisie faced different regions on different goods

  • Life of the peasants was horrible as they worked hard and didn’t get treated well for them working hard. Peasants had no access to education and only a few of the peasants could read and write. Aristocrats would chase the animals so they would crush the crops the peasants worked hard for and the peasants couldn’t do anything about it. As peasants described, a peasant life was brutal as they worked hard and what they got for doing that hard work was basically getting bullied.

City life had mixes of good and bad. People who came from the country side had to find jobs in the city, the ones who couldn’t had to have less paying jobs and half their wagers would just go on food, so that leads to lots of people poor and living in slums. On the other side, there were the extremely wealthy people who weren’t ashamed by much and they made prices on goods rise a lot more which made it harder for the unwealthy people to get food. Overall there a lot more bad in the city than good but for wealthy people, they’re having a good life in the city.

The bourgeoisie’s were important as they invested in businesses and they were more of the middle class of all the groups. Laws and regulations made it hard for the bourgeoisie’s to make money because the government made tariffs (taxes) and tolls (charging people to cross their bridge). The government also did very little to make roads for canals or other ways of communication.

Peasant farmers still used medieval farming methods and did not produce as much food as countries such as England. Some Peasants could read or write but writers existence was brutal.Peasants were forbidden to kill animals because these specific animals were killed by aristocrats.

Paris was the hub of France.People usually came to paris for work and, unfortunately, have their income was spent on food. This meant paris had many thieves, beggars, and vagrants due to poor lives.Wealthier people were very flashy with their money.Due to the great deal of money that was brought in, cost rose and ordinaries had to deal with it.

The Bourgeoisie were the middle class and they were great for the economy. Some people had sold things to other since the Bourgeoisie had a difficult time making a profit. in some regions guilds had rights from the king to sell and produce how many goods they wanted.

The french in the 17th century owned very little parts of land. Readers and writers had a brutal time. Peasant had to also work on the lord’s property and government projects.

The city life of paris in the 17th century was good and also bad. It was bad because labourers have to spend there salaries on food. It was good because the city life was great for prosperous merchants that got to display their wealthiness.

The bourgeoisie was important to the economy. They invested new ventures. It was difficult for bourgeois and they make profit out of it. France was divided into different regions and each had tariffs and tolls. They were a struggle because they had to be paid by the middle class people.
