FALL SPORTS 2026 ONLINE SIGN UP AND REGISTRATION IS NOW LIVE!

Students enrolled at John Oliver Secondary for 2026-2027 are eligible to register/sign up to be a part of the FALL inter-high school athletics teams that are offered at JO; subsequent sign ups will occur later in the academic year for the WINTER (mid-October) and SPRING (late January) seasons separately for those sports.
The Fall Sports offered at JO this year are:
  • Volleyball – Girls
    • Grade 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
  • Volleyball – Boys
    • Grade 10, 11, 12
    • Grade 8 and 9 Boys Volleyball season is in the Spring Season
  • Soccer – Boys
    • Grade 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
  • Cross Country – CoEd
    • Grade 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
Sports not listed for the Fall Season may be in one of the later seasons (Winter or Spring) and sign up for those sports will occur later in the year.
All sports are offered based on the number of participants signed up as well as coach availability – if those requirements are not met, that specific sport team may not be able to run.
Students looking to be involved with school sports – as an athlete, manager, or as part of the JO Officials Club – are encouraged to sign up and register!

2024-25 WINTER SPORTS ONLINE SIGN UP

Students enrolled at John Oliver Secondary for 2024-25 are invited to register/sign up to be a part of the inter-high school athletics sports teams.  The WINTER Sports offered at JO include basketball and wrestling.  Further details on tryouts/first practices will be posted separately on ALL STUDENTS TEAMS. Online Registration/sign up for WINTER Sports closes 12pm noon October 23, 2024.

Online Registration/sign up for Fall Sports closes at 3pm, September 10, 2024.

LEVELS: please register for your appropriate sport grade level (bolded)
Bantam = only grade 8s are eligible
Juvenile = up to and including grade 9s are eligible
Junior = up to and including grade 10s are eligible
Senior = generally grade 11s & 12s, all grades are eligible

Important/please note: any student wishing to sign up/try out for a level above their own specific grade level must meet the following criteria:
– must be able to demonstrate advanced skill level
– parent/guardian consent
– approval of coaches/Athletic Director

Further information can be requested at ptlee@vsb.bc.ca or come by room 115 (first floor, east hallway); also please note that final sports/teams offered will depend on sign up numbers (each sport has a minimum number required) as well as availability of qualified coaches and sponsors. In some cases, age levels may be combined in order to run a particular team.
