Raymond Louie (1965 – )

Raymond Louie was born in Vancouver. After graduating from Windermere Secondary School, he studied at the BC Institute of Technology, but left before graduating. He became a National Representative for the Communications, Energy, and Paperworkers Union of Canada while working at the Pacific Newspaper Group. In 2002, he was elected to Vancouver City Council, and won re-election in 2005, 2008, 20011, and 2014. As a member Vancouver city Council, he served on a number of committees, including: Planning and Environment, Transportation and Traffic, City Services and Budgets, Vancouver Civic Theatres Board, Mayor’s Working Group on Immigration, Greater Vancouver Regional District, and the GVRD Finance Committee, and the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority. He was also a member of the Homeless Emergency Action Team created by Mayor Gregor Robinson in 2008.
