ABOUT US

SCHOOL EXPECTATIONS

WHAT ARE OUR EXPECTATIONS AT SCHOOL?

Be Fair…
Fair play is about learning the rules of the game and putting them into practice – whether they are sports, board games, or playground protocol.  This way, everyone gets to enjoy the experience.
Playing fair is also about learning social rules, such as turn taking and showing courtesy for others.
For children, it might mean:
– helping out another child who is having trouble with the game
– giving others a fair chance at winning

– being quiet and respectful in the hallways so that others can work to their fullest potential
– taking turns with others

Be Kind…
Kindness is the ability to show empathy and compassion towards others.  Our students are encouraged to respond to the needs and suffering of their peers by:
– being helpful
– making someone feel better when he/she is hurt or upset

– being a good friend
– including others in play
– respecting other people’s property
– showing care for their community

By encouraging our students to be givers of kindness, children’s feelings of happiness increase, bullying behaviours are reduced, friendships are built, and a community that looks out for one another is created.

Be Safe…
Students are expected to behave in a safe manner at school.  Kids are expected to:
– walk, not run, in the school hallways
– follow gym/classroom/school rules
– listen to and follow emergency drill instructions carefully
– stay on the school property during Recess and Lunch

– follow Health and Safety protocols at school

“IT’S NICE TO BE IMPORTANT, BUT MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE.”
