Dear Parents/Guardians:
Your child’s birthday is a very special day, and I know many families may be tempted to bring in yummy treats to celebrate the wonderful occasion.
However, given that many students have food allergies and intolerances, bringing food into the classroom puts them at risk for potentially life-threatening reactions.
If you’d still like to bring in something to mark the special day, see below for suggestions…

How Do We Celebrate Birthdays In Our Classroom?
Each student will receive a personalized birthday booklet from the class on his/her birthday! Also, your child will have a chance to be the “Birthday Boss” and lead exercise activities for the class that day. (e.g. When your child turns 7 years old, s/he can dictate 7 different exercises her peers must do: 7 push-ups, 7 jumping jacks, 7 sit-ups, etc.)
Thank you for helping us keep birthday celebrations simple and safe for everyone in the class!
