Ce matin, nous nous sommes tous rencontrés à la gare de train avant d’aller au marché de Versailles. Nous sommes tous allés acheter des fruits, des légumes et d’autres produits frais pour compléter notre déjeuner préparé par nos familles. Mme Y nous a montré des amandes aux herbes de Provence et moi (Nadya) et Brett nous les avons adorées. Puis, nous avons marché jusqu’au Palais de Versailles pour un tour guidé des chambres du roi. C’est où Louis XIV vivait. Ses chambres avaient de grandes peintures et c’était presque tout couvert de l’or. Ensuite nous avons pris un train pour aller à Paris pour aller à la Cathédrale Notre Dame. Nous sommes montés dans les tours et avons eu une vue de Paris. La marche jusqu’en haut était longue et fatiguante mais c’était amusant!
After our time spent at Notre Dame we decided to switch some plans around to go to the Basilica Sacré Cœur for the next couple of hours. We took the metro most of the way there and walked a couple of minutes. Once there, we had to walk to the top of the hill while avoiding pickpockets and scammers looking to trick us (since we looked like such tourists!). Finally at the top we waited on the giant stairs overlooking the city while people went to the bathroom. Then, we had the choice of going shopping in the artists streets behind Sacré Cœur or climbing to the top of the basilica to see a breathtaking 360 degree view of Paris. On the way back to Versailles we stopped to see th outside of the very famous Moulin Rouge for a couple minutes. After around an hour of trains we met our home stay families and went Home for dinner. A very tiring but beautiful day!
