Mont Saint-Michel – Saint-Malo

As much as an early start seemed painful, we were happy to get moving with the trip, and excited to see the next destination. We started off by grabbing some lunch to go at the grocery store, and then some of us relaxed while others sang along to music in the bus. 2 hours later and through the fog, we saw Mt St-Michel in the distance. It looked incredible and as we got closer, even more. There were many tourists there, more than we’ve ever seen so far on our trip (Paris is laughing). When we finally arrived we were incredibly tired from hiking up the steep and twisty stairs to the entrance. The castle looked amazing! Inside we listened to an audio guided tour, telling us the history and facts about the castle and monastery. It was really interesting, the tide was low and the view from high up was magnificent.

When we arrived at Saint Malo everyone fell instantly in love. It was sunny, not too windy and the ocean was bright blue. We walked above the old city’s wall and saw the streets and shops from up above. We visited a cathedral and  walked through the cute little streets while all the high school students seemed to be let out of school.

Most of us were looking forward to the formal night and it did not disappoint. The food was tasty and everyone looked really nice and beautiful.

The night wrapped up as we returned to our hotel, walking by the water, while some of us planned for a early sunrise jog and maybe an ocean dip?
