- Grade 8 – Follows the Social Studies 8 curriculum and includes studies on events between the 7th Century to 1750 through lenses of: conflict and contact, population change, exploration, and ever-changing societies. - Grade 9 – Follows the Social Studies 9 curriculum and includes studies of North American history in the 18th Century through lenses of: emerging ideas and ideologies, political, social, and economic change, disparities in power, and collective identity. The emphasis and enrichment are on leveraging technology, appropriate use of devices and online resources for research.
- Grade 10 – Follows the Social Studies 10 curriculum and includes studies of the history of Canada and the world from 1914 to the present through lenses of: conflict, the development of political institutions, different perspectives and worldviews, and historical and contemporary injustices. The emphasis and enrichment are on leveraging technology, appropriate use of devices and online resources for research.
- Grade 12 – Topics to be covered may include features, processes and effects on human and natural systems of: plate tectonics, gradation, and natural disasters; climate, weather, and interactions between humans and the environment; characteristics of global biomes; natural resources and sustainability; demographic patterns; global agricultural practices; industrialization, trade, and natural resource demands; urbanization; relationships between natural resources and population settlement and economic development; urban planning and urban design. The emphasis and enrichment are on leveraging technology, appropriate use of devices and online resources for research.
