According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
“Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself, including food, clothing, housing and medical care necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age, or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control. ” [article 25 (1)]
Is our city doing an adequate job of providing this fundamental human right for all its citizens? You will be investigating the issue of homelessness in groups of 3. Read through the list of topics and tasks to explore below. Choose 3 topics that interest you and your group members the most. Each group will conduct research on one area and create a key visual to present to the class.
