Discover Victoria: A Transformative Journey for John Oliver Secondary Students
We are thrilled to invite parents and the community to support an unforgettable 4-5 day overnight educational adventure to Victoria, BC, designed especially for Grade 8 and 9 students at John Oliver Secondary. This enriching trip blends academic exploration with cultural immersion, offering students the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on workshops led by University of Victoria students and faculty. These sessions will spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire future academic pathways in a dynamic university setting.
Students will also step into the heart of British Columbia’s political landscape with guided tours of the iconic BC Legislature. Here, they’ll witness democracy in action, explore the province’s rich history, and gain a deeper understanding of civic responsibility. This experience is designed to empower young minds with knowledge and a sense of belonging in the broader provincial community.
To round out the journey, students will attend and participate in performances that showcase Victoria’s vibrant arts scene.
