This engaging and hands-on Music Production course invites students to explore the creative and technical aspects of modern music-making. Designed for grades 10-12, the course aligns with the British Columbia curriculum, emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration in the arts.

Students will dive into the exciting world of music production through:
- Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs): Learn to use industry-standard software to compose, arrange, and produce original music.
- Recording Techniques: Explore the fundamentals of capturing sound, including microphone placement, audio editing, and mixing for professional-quality results.
- DJing and Live Performance: Discover the art of DJing, including beat-matching, track selection, and creating dynamic live sets to engage audiences.
By the end of the course, students will have the skills to create original tracks, record high-quality audio, and perform as DJs. This course fosters creative expression, technical proficiency, and an understanding of the ever-evolving music industry. No prior experience in music production is required—just a passion for music and a willingness to learn.
Assessment:

*For the 2025-2026 School Year, this course will run as a club afterschool on Thursday from 3-4:30. We will meet in room 201 and also use the computer lab in room 308 for music production and room 140 for recording techniques.
