Raspberry Pi is a low cost, credit-card sized computer. Raspberry Pi will operate almost like any other computer you’ve used before. To use it, all you have to do is connect it to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. It can access the internet, and has many programs in its software available for use.
Originally, the Raspberry Pi foundation made these computers to teach basic Computer Science in schools; that’s what you can do in Maker Club! There are programs like Wolfram Language or Mathematica to teach you basic programming. On Raspberry Pi, installed is also the extremely popular game: Minecraft. In this version of Minecraft, you can modify the game world with code! Of course, these aren’t the only things on Raspberry Pi, the device is a fully operational computer, so you can download things off the internet to explore.
You can program your Raspberry Pi to do almost anything you’d want it to. If you need some ideas, these two websites have thousands of projects from other creators. Projects range from basic to advanced, so start off simple and work your way towards being a master with Raspberry Pi. Almost all these projects below will have step-by-step tutorials to which you can duplicate and create your own.
