Grade 11 & 12 students: YWCA Mentorship Program

YWCA Mentorship Program Poster 2020

The YWCA Mentorship is an awesome opportunity for young ladies in grades 11 and 12 to get matched up with a mentor for the school year.  This program allows for education and career direction and development of valuable skills (in past there were workshops on resume writing, writing applications, dealing with stress etc…)

This year the application process is being done electronically so make sure you read the Program Poster carefully.

Socials 8: Pick up readings & MOODLE log in

#1.     Students should pick up their readings for the week in preparation for next week’s F2F classes.

  • Come by room 113 either in the morning before school, during Flex or at the beginning of lunch as you leave the building to pickup the booklets.
  • Please have the readings completed for next week:  September 21st

#2.    Students should try to log in to Moodle.  Teams has integrated Moodle so if you go onto Teams you should see instruction on how to enrol.

#3.     If you do not remember your password you can reset the password by going here:

I am hoping once everyone is onto Moodle I will be able to move you into my course – Social Studies 8.

2020-2021 Welcome to a new school year!

This school year we are moving to a Quarter System.  There will be 4 quarters.  In each quarter, students will focus on two courses for 10 weeks.  This will allow students to focus on only two subjects at a time.

Each course will alternate between Face to Face in class interaction as well as Remote learning from home.

When your class is on the Remote Learning rotation it is imperative for each student to stay up to date with the course.  The course will continue online, therefore, students must have access to technology to allow for this.  If students do not have the technology available to them, they must notify the teacher or counsellor as soon as possible.

For courses this year, students:

  • need to have access to Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint etc.).  Students should be able to download and install to their devices so they can also work offline.
  • regularly check this Blog for updates, assignments, announcements.
  • need to have access to Moodle.  Students will be manually enrolled into the course once I am able to do so.  Moodle is where there will be resources  (readings, worksheets assignments etc.) for students to access.
