Philosophy in Movies Presentations

Groups must submit their projects on the following days regardless if they are presenting or not:

  • Block 2-4:  Monday, October 16th
  • Block 1-2:  Tuesday, October 17th

 

Individual journals and individual logs will be collected the next class:

  • Block 2-4:  Wednesday, October 18th
  • Block 1-2:  Thursday, October 19th
  • Journals may be handwritten, typed or you may email me a link to your ePortfolio
  • Logs must be either handwritten or typed and submitted in class
  • We will spend class time on evals during the class

If you are not enrolled you will not received term grades = no report card mark but an “I”

Philosophy and Movies Project hints:

  • Groups must analyze, compare and contrast the two movies beyond just the surface.  Dive deeper into the philosophical ideas presented, symbolism and affects of the ideas/philosphy on what is portrayed on screen.
  • Do a bit more research into the ideas of the movies.  Is the movie based on a literary work? Previous movie? Do the makers of the movie have an agenda?

Philosophy Vocabulary List

  • definition must be complete and comprehensive, you may add a link(s) or videos for enrichment purposes
  • the end of your entry you must cite your source...use  EasyBib MLA8 format for simple formatting of your source
  • you must add in your first and last name and block you are in at the very end of the entry in order to receive credit
  • for now you are limited to only two entries
  • check the HW Blog to see when Socials 11 are allowed to make more entries…more entries means more credit towards term grades
