Students who missed the Quiz on Poetry and Literary Devices today must come in during FIT to write it.
Thursday, March 2nd or Tuesday, March 7th for full credit…after which it will be for completion credit only.

 

Descriptive writing assignment:
Pick one topic (can be anything or any event) and describe it fully.
Use all your senses, emotions and literary devices to give a detailed description of your topic.
500 words (one page:  double spaced, both sides of page in pen)

Geography notes for the three chapters. Students have been assigned Chapters 13 or 15 or 17 note based on their seats in the class. The chapter notes will be due on March 10th.
(You may want to get together with other people in class to arrange a notes switch to help your studying.)

ASSIGNMENT IS TO BE SUBMITTED ON TEAMS:
Each student has received a type of poem to define and present to the class on Tuesday, February 21st.
It is to be presented in a Powerpoint or PDF format…two slides minimum
Required elements:
Slide 1
  • type of poem assigned (title)
  • origins
  • definition (some will have lots of detail others will not)
  • source of information at the very bottom in small font that I can check to see the source
Slide 2
  • example(s) of the type of poem
  • if poem is short you must have at least two examples
  • you must include:  title of poem, author, and the poem itself
  • source of information at the very bottom in small font that I can check to see the source
Upload and turn in the assignment on TEAMS before it is your class period!
Each student will give a quick informal presentation on their poem and examples.
Students must read the poem aloud (or a segment of it if it is a very long poem) and explain why it is a good example of the type of poem  by explaining the elements that define it based on the definition from Slide 1
