Asian Studies 12 SFU Field Trip Itinerary: November 12th
Itinerary for the day:
- Arrive and report in for attendance in from of WAC Bennet Library on Convocation Mall by 9:00am
- 9:15am: Campus Tour
- 10:30am: Lecture #1 (History 101: Canada to Confederation)
- LUNCH
- 12:15pm: Lecture #2 (International Studies 101: Global Challenges of the 21st Century)
- 1:20pm: Regroup in front of WAC Bennet Library. Hand in assignment and dismissal at 1:30pm
*Be aware that there is a Transit Strike and please adjust accordingly in case of job action that affects your commute up to SFU
*Students NOT ATTENDING the SFU visit are required to pick up alternate assignment from Mrs. Kwon by Thursday, November 7th…Report to Mr. Lee (room 115) for class during Block 2-1 to work on assignment or project.
Socials 8 Treasure Maps due November 15th
Treasure Maps are due on Friday November 15th
There are two classes left — November 7 and 13 and the 15th should be used to double check and fine tune the map.
Room 113 is available at lunch hours for groups who want to work on their Treasure Maps
*Block 1-3 will have only have the 13th because of the Remembrance Day Assembly*

Vimy Pilgrimage Award
The Vimy Foundation created the Vimy Pilgrimage Award to recognize the actions of young people who are dedicated to the betterment of society by demonstrating an outstanding commitment to volunteer work through positive contributions, notable deeds, or bravery that benefits their peers, school, community, province, or country.
The Vimy Pilgrimage Award consists of a fully funded week-long educational program in Belgium and France to study Canada’s tremendous First World War contribution. The program, scheduled for April 2–10, 2020, is offered by the Vimy Foundation and features daily visits to important First World War sites including museums, cemeteries, and historic battlefields. A total of 20 students will be selected for the 2020 program.

Presentation print outs and citation lists are due November 14 (which is a Day 2)
Presentations start on November 18th…you must be ready to present if called upon. (If you are not ready you are risking a 10% deduction each time.)
*Please take into consideration the debrief of the mid-point presentations to help improve your project!
