JO Clothing Drive coming up, between Feb 22 – March 4 2022!
Here we have some news from our friends from JO Care and John Oliver Little Tree Club.
JO Care is associated with Care Canada, https://care.ca/ , a non-profit organization helping women and girls in developing countries lift themselves and their families out of poverty and out of crisis.
Care Canada’s MISSION is to work around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice. As VISION, they seek a world of hope, inclusion and social justice, where poverty has been overcome, and all people live in dignity and security.
That’s why they are FOCUSING on putting women and girls in the center because they know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.
What is John Oliver Secondary doing to help?
The John Oliver Little Tree Club and JO Cares will be hosting a clothing drive.
Period: February 22nd – March 4th, 2022.
All contributions will be donated to the Covenant House, a local non-profit helping homeless youth in Vancouver. We ask staff/students to bring their contributions to their first block class.
Covenant House is specifically asking for:
- Sweatshirts & Sweatpants
- Blankets
- T-Shirts
- Socks
- Gloves
- NO Jewelry or Makeup, please.
