SS 10 – The Daily Life of a Miner – Mrs. Campos

Welcome to the “Daily Life of a Miner” page!

Your task is to use words, phrases or images to reflect the positive and negative  experiences of a West Coast (BC/Yukon) miner (or miner’s wife)

You may use either Glogster or a scrapbook frame (a piece of paper no larger than 12″ x 12″)  to make either a poster or a scrapbook page.

Requirements:

1. Poster or scrapbook page with a minimum of 1 map and 2 images with captions, that are correctly cited.

2. A separate Works Cited in MLA 7   format for any text or images that are used (see below for some sample citations).

3. A name for your miner (personalize the page!)

4. Important criteria for your poster/scrapbook page is that it is organized, neat, with proper grammar, etc.

If you would like to use Glogster you will receive a nickname and password from Ms. Parungao. You need to write this information down so you don’t lose it. Click on the above link to get to Glogster.

Works Cited:

There is lots of information on the Works Cited page (click on the Works Cited tab above). Please take the time to go through the samples. You may use Easybib, as it will format your Works Cited nicely (take a look at the screencast we have put on that page).

Also, please see How to cite images and maps from books and the web for more information.

If you have any questions, please ask Ms. Parungao. Have fun making your posters/scrapbook pages!
