General Information

What is Articulation?

Articulation is the process of ensuring a smooth transition for our incoming grade 8 students in the fall.  The Articulation team at the school consists of an administrator, the grade 12/grade 8 counsellor, the ELL counsellor the Resource teacher, the ELL department head, and the Skills Teacher.  Visits to the feeder elementary schools are organized for January of the incoming year.  During these visits, the Vice Principal and the counsellors go out and speak to incoming grade 7 students about the school and answer questions that students and staff have.  There is also a parent/guardian information night that will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.  As well, there are more in depth visits in March/April where the entire Articulation team goes to the elementary schools and collects information on each individual student coming to David Thompson in order to program and support them appropriately.
