- Information about our 2017 Festival (our 40th!) will be available as of November 4th at: http://www.childrensfestival.ca/calendar/featured-performers/ (School Tickets go on sale November 8)
- Another show of interest for School audiences is our collaboration with the PuSh Festival (Jan 18-20), MESS (five star reviews) with Olivier Award winning playwright & performer, Caroline Horton, and specifically designed for Middle & Secondary students: http://www.childrensfestival.ca/calendar/featured-performers/mess/
Special thanks to our 2016 Key Volunteers, those especially motivated individuals who had the opportunity to get behind the scenes at our office and at our Festival site. Many also gained valuable experience by taking on key positions for special projects or by being my personal assistants during the Festival.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Again this year, the Festival is hoping to have two types of student volunteers: those who volunteer during the Festival ➢ May 29 – June 4 (more than 1100 in 2016) and “Key Volunteers”, who help us (and their Career or Planning teachers) in recruiting, interviewing & coordinating these Festival volunteers at each school. Last year, over 80 “Key Volunteers” from various secondary schools in the Lower Mainland participated in this program.
A HEADS UP : Our Festival has a great variety of career development opportunities for students looking for a future in Business, Tourism, Early Childhood Education, Event Management… so many we can’t list them all here, so please call to discuss individual student placements. And please let your French or Immersion teachers know that we have great opportunities for their students to practice French and/or to come as a class on a Volunteering Field Trip!
ALSO: Our Festival’s Granville Island location is very practical & transit friendly!
