BC Adult Graduation Diploma (Grade 12 equivalency)

Courses

You will take five courses, including:

  • a Language Arts 12 BC secondary course, or equivalent1 or higher, and
  • a Math 11 or 12 BC secondary course, or equivalent2 or higher, and
  • three Grade 12 level BC ministry-authorized courses or equivalent3 or higher

Please note:

  1. Camosun offers alternatives to completing a Language Arts 12 course. You can take:
    • ENGL 091 and ENGL 093 or
    • ENGL 092 and ENGL 094 or
    • ENGL 092 and ENGL 096 or
    • ENGL 092 and ENGL 104, or
    • ENGL 092, or
    • ENGL 103*, or
    • ENGL 142
      Or, if English is not your first language,
    • ELD 092 and ELD 094, or
    • ELD 097, or
    • ELD 103**

    *If taking ENGL 103 for this requirement, please note that admission requirements to Camosun programs will also require completion of ENGL 094, or ENGL 096, or ENGL 104.

    If taking both ENGL 103 and ENGL 104, you can use ENGL 104 towards one of the three (3) other courses listed after the Language Arts and the math requirements.**If taking ELD 103 for this requirement, please note that admission requirements to Camosun programs will also require completion of ELD 104.

    If taking both ELD 103 and ELD 104, you can use ELD 104 towards one of the three (3) other courses listed after the Language Arts and the math requirements.

  2. Camosun offers alternatives to completing Math 11 or 12 requirements for this credential.
    You can take:

    • MATH 072 and MATH 073 or
    • Any MATH 100 level, or
    • ACCT 110

    Note: Admission into other Camosun programs may influence your choice for this requirement.

Secondary school academic courses may be used as part of the BC Adult Graduation diploma. However, a minimum of three of the five courses must be taken as an adult student and a minimum of one course must be successfully completed at Camosun College. If you wish to use the BC Adult Graduation Diploma for admission to a BC university, you must complete additional courses. Please refer to the relevant university calendar or discuss your plans with an Academic Advisor.
