VanDusen Botanical Garden Summer Camp Assistants

VanDusen Botanical Garden is looking for student volunteers to help out at their summer camp program that runs from Tuesday, July 4th to Friday, August 25th.  As a Summer Camp Assistant you will be helping kids learn, explore and play in the Garden.  Each day will include a balance of games, crafts, lessons, and activities, with as much time spent outside as possible.   You must be 16 years old and have a Criminal Record Clearance prior to starting.  There will be a mandatory orientation and training session on Tuesday, June 27th from 4:30 pm to 8 pm.   For additional information, please click here to see the flyer.

29th Annual Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival

The Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival is looking for student volunteers to help out at the 29th Annual Vancouver Dragon Festival on June 23, 24 & 25, 2017.  Their non-profit society reflects diversity through festivals that celebrate the arts and dragon boat racing.

Festival volunteers work primarily providing excellent customer service throughout the site.  Festival volunteers duties include:

  • greeting customers and providing accurate information
  • checking passes
  • selling merchandise
  • helping to set up and run various activities, such as children’s crafts or paddler games
  • assisting entertainers
  • VIP/Sponsor services

Volunteers for Canada Day on Granville Island

There are still many volunteer opportunities available for Canada Day on Granville Island.  Please visit their site http://granvilleisland.com/volunteer-on-canada-day to register online for one of the many spots available.  Deadline to apply is Sunday, June 4, 2017 for priority scheduling.  Shifts will be assigned on a first-come basis, beginning with returning volunteers.
