Geering Up UBC Engineering & Science for Kids is a non-profit, student-run organization looking for Junior Instructors to help instructors teach hands-on science and engineer activities for youth between Grades 1-7. If you are a student entering Grade 11 or 12 in Sept. 2017 and have an interest in science, engineering, or technology this is a great opportunity for you. Junior Instructors will volunteer from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday for a minimum of one week. They will be happy to have student volunteers for multiple weeks. There are 50 volunteering positions for each week and the camps run for a total of 9 weeks, starting July 4 to August 31, 2017.

The Writers’ Exchange is looking for student volunteers to join them as literacy mentors during July and August. Mentors work one-on-one or in small groups with kids (ages 6 to 13) to help them complete fun, creative literacy projects and make sure that all kids leave each session knowing how awesome they are. As an enthusiastic, committed literacy mentor, you make it possible for us to fulfill our mission: get inner-city kids excited about reading and writing!

Royal Soccer Club is a non-profit soccer camp that runs from July 4 to September 1. They have volunteer opportunities for students to help out at 3 Vancouver area locations – Templeton Park, Kerrisdale Park and Kensignton Park. There are also locations in Abbotsford, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, Kamloops, Kelowna, Langley, Maple Ridge, Richmond, Surrey and Victoria.
Volunteers must be 14 years of age by the start of the week they want to volunteer and for Camp Counselors, students must be 16 years of age by the time camp starts.
