KidSafe is now accepting applications for student volunteers to help out during the Summer Break from July 4 to August 25, 2017. Founded in 1993 by the Vancouver Sun newspaper, concerned citizens, and Vancouver School Board. KidSafe provides a nurturing safe haven for inner-city children when schools are traditionally closed (Winter, Spring and Summer Breaks). KidSafe keeps school doors open at six Vancouver elementary schools to provide, fun and learning opportunities to over 300 children and youth.

Students must complete the application form (with cover letter and resume), attend an intake interview, orientation and complete the Criminal Record Check and receive clearance prior to starting.
Application deadline is Friday, May 12, 2017 and commitment is just 10 days, so students can attend summer school as well as volunteer.
