Linx Marketing, organizers for The Freedom 55 Financial Open is looking for 25 student volunteers to assist with this charity event which will take place from May 29 to June 4, 2017. This year’s charity recipient is the Canucks for Kids Fund and will be held at Point Grey Golf & Country Club.
Any students volunteering will be provided:
- Two tickets to a Vancouver Canucks 2017/18 regular season game
- A golf hat and shirt
- Hot meals during their shift
- Invitation to the volunteer party
- Entry to view the tournament when they not volunteering

City of Vancouver is looking for student volunteers to help out at their annual Family Day event on Sunday, May 13, 2017. This event will be held at Manitoba Works Yard, 250 West 70th Avenue and the location is transit friendly. The theme of the event this year is Diversity and Inclusiveness and students will be able to learn about different opportunities available at the City of Vancouver. Students will be helping with various activities such as basketball shoot, mini golf and to help with set up and take down of the displays.

There are flexibility for volunteers, shifts are from 8 am to 4 pm and actual event is from 10 am to 2 pm. KidSafe is now accepting applications for student volunteers to help out during the Summer Break from July 4 to August 25, 2017. Founded in 1993 by the Vancouver Sun newspaper, concerned citizens, and Vancouver School Board. KidSafe provides a nurturing safe haven for inner-city children when schools are traditionally closed (Winter, Spring and Summer Breaks). KidSafe keeps school doors open at six Vancouver elementary schools to provide, fun and learning opportunities to over 300 children and youth.

Students must complete the application form (with cover letter and resume), attend an intake interview, orientation and complete the Criminal Record Check and receive clearance prior to starting.
Application deadline is Friday, May 12, 2017 and commitment is just 10 days, so students can attend summer school as well as volunteer.
