Final e-mail confirmations<\/span> will be sent out by Saturday, February 14.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

HOW TO REGISTER FOR VDSF<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Is your school is new to VDSF?<\/strong><\/span>If so, your sponsor teacher must do Step 1 (submit the VDSF Registration form) on your behalf.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    \n
  1. Ask your teacher sponsor for the link to the<\/strong> VDSF Registration form<\/b><\/span>. You must be signed in as a VSB student to access it. Each project partner completes and submits their own form.<\/li>\n
  2. Check your<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0VSB e-mail<\/span>\u00a0for an e-mail from VDSF within the next 24 hours.<\/strong> This e-mail will contain links for submitting your project profile<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0project abstract<\/strong><\/span>, as well as your\u00a0project tag <\/strong><\/span>(use this to identify your project in e-mails with VDSF and GVRSF). If your project requires ethics approval<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, you will be prompted to submit a formal request.<\/li>\n
  3. Continue to check your VSB e-mail regularly<\/span> for updates to your registration status.<\/strong> If any part(s) of your registration are missing, follow up right away!<\/li>\n
  4. All applicants will be e-mailed after registration closes.<\/strong> If your project has been waitlisted, follow the instructions listed as you may still have a chance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Keep an eye out for that confirmation e-mail!<\/strong><\/span> A completed registration does not<\/strong> automatically mean that a project has been accepted to VDSF.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Top 5 reasons why your registration is incomplete<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. \"\"<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>No teacher verification:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Your project was selected for VDSF, but your teacher sponsor hasn’t submitted their nomination form. Check with them!<\/li>\n
    2. Your project partner:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>You’ve submitted your registration form, but your project partner hasn’t. Check with them!<\/li>\n
    3. Missing project profile and\/or project abstract: <\/strong><\/span>Check your e-mail again for the links to these forms. Maybe you started the project abstract but didn’t finish it. Project abstracts are read by judges and used to review waitlisted projects.<\/li>\n
    4. Pending ethics check: <\/strong><\/span>Your project was flagged because it involved the use of humans and\/or animals, but not in a way that requires ethics approval. You will be asked for additional details to see if an exemption is justified.<\/li>\n
    5. Pending ethics approval: <\/strong><\/span>You either haven’t submitted a formal request to vdsfethics@gvrsf.ca<\/a> <\/span>(or didn’t include vdsfprojects@vsb.bc.ca<\/a><\/span> on your e-mail) or haven’t answered the GVRSF ethics reviewer’s follow-up questions. Don’t delay on this!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
