Feb 2022 – Math Challengers at UBC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Math Challengers 2023 Regionals took place on February 25th at UBC and our students did us proud! We had three grade 8 teams, 2 grade 9 teams, and 1 grade 10 team. All the students were on exemplary behavior and were incredibly supportive of each other. It was a bit of a long day, running from our meetup at 8:30 AM to the end of the Awards Ceremony around 4:30 PM. In between, the students took part in three stages of the competition and waited around patiently for the exams to be marked so that the final event, the Face Off could take place. Here is how our students faired:<\/span><\/p>\n

Our grade 10 team consisting of Austin Ng, Colin Wang, Cody Chau, and Nathan Yan finished in first place and will be invited back to compete in the Provincials in April.<\/span><\/p>\n

On an individual basis, both Austin & Colin (from the grade 10 team) and Jeffrey Chen placed high enough to take part in the very challenging and fast-paced Face Off. Jeffrey finished in 2nd place in the grade 9 Face Off, and Austin won the grade 10 Face Off! In addition, both Austin & Jeffrey scored perfectly on the Bullseye round.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
