Dear Parents\/Guardians:<\/span><\/p>\n

Did you know that all Grade 1-7 students use a student agenda?<\/span><\/p>\n

The reason for that is simple: \u00a0your child’s agenda is a form of ongoing communication between school and home. \u00a0Please check the agenda daily. \u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In your child’s agenda, you will find…<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • a daily message<\/span> that your child has copied so that you are fully informed about school or class events<\/span><\/li>\n
  • a monthly calendar<\/span> to record your child’s participation in our Home Reading program<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • a plastic pouch right behind the cover which is used to house important\u00a0newsletters, consent forms, or notes for you to read and\/or sign<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • occasional “brain teasers”<\/span> for your child to complete as concept review<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    DAILY MESSAGES:<\/strong> \u00a0It’s important to get into the habit of checking your child’s agenda every night, as things do come up suddenly at school! \u00a0We always want caregivers\u00a0<\/span>to be aware of what’s happening in class or at school because you are an integral part of your child’s success. \u00a0Please sign your initials under the date to indicate that you have read the daily message.<\/span><\/p>\n

    HOME READING LOG:<\/strong> \u00a0For our Home Reading program, initial each date on the monthly calendar inside the agenda to indicate that your child has read or has been read to for at least 15 minutes. \u00a0(See the “HOME READING” section on this class website for more info!<\/strong>)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    PLASTIC POUCH: \u00a0<\/strong>Everyday, please check the plastic pouch (behind the cover of the agenda) to see if there is any paper communication from the school or PAC; forms that need to be signed and returned should be folded and tucked back inside that same plastic pouch. \u00a0This helps me or a Teacher-On-Call find important papers easily.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Finally, I encourage you to store your child’s agenda in a large ziplock bag once you have finished reading the daily message and signed\u00a0off on the Home Reading each night. \u00a0Putting the agenda back in a ziplock bag really helps to reduce the chances of food\/water stains. \u00a0Remember to label your child’s ziplock bag.<\/span><\/p>\n
