To help us better understand these types, Mr. S gave us animal examples.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/mggriffiths\/files\/2013\/10\/mouse-clipart-1.gif\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1359 aligncenter\" alt=\"mouse-clipart-1\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/mggriffiths\/files\/2013\/10\/mouse-clipart-1-261x300.gif\" width=\"261\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Passive Mouse<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>talks softly<\/li>\n<li>avoids eye contact<\/li>\n<li>has trouble saying no<\/li>\n<li>does not stand up for their rights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/mggriffiths\/files\/2013\/10\/468_dog1.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"468_dog1\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/mggriffiths\/files\/2013\/10\/468_dog1-300x290.gif\" width=\"300\" height=\"290\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Assertive Dog<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px\">firm, clear voice<\/span><\/li>\n<li>makes good eye contact<\/li>\n<li>able to express their needs<\/li>\n<li>stand up straight<\/li>\n<li>respect the opinions of others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/mggriffiths\/files\/2013\/10\/images.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1360 aligncenter\" alt=\"images\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/mggriffiths\/files\/2013\/10\/images.jpg\" width=\"266\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Aggressive Alligator<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>loud voice<\/li>\n<li>stares at people<\/li>\n<li>always get their way<\/li>\n<li>invades people&#8217;s spaces<\/li>\n<li>hurts others with their mean words and actions<\/li>\n<li>disrespectful<\/li>\n<li>can be abusive<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To end our session, the students created their own skits to illustrate the three styles of communication.
